Thanks to innovations in Agricom Group the yield increased from 5 to 7 centners per hectare
Thanks to the introduction of innovations, Agricom Group controls all processes at the enterprise and reduces costs.
This was announced during the conference “Agronomist’s Day” by the Agricultural department’s director of the of Agricom Group Eugene Horlo. According to him, the company has been focusing on precision farming since its incorporation. In particular, experimental plots for differential sowing and differential application of fertilizers were established, and simultaneously specialists carried out soil sampling in all fields.
“After taking samples of soil, we have found problem areas. For the third year in a row, we are liming our soils in Zhytomyr and Chernihiv regions, because in some parts of the field the acidity was about 4 – 4.5 pH. And this prevented us from getting a full harvest,” said Yevhen Horlo.
He said that as of today, Agricom Group has reached the level of “enterprise in a smartphone.” “Today, from my mobile phone, I can control at any point, at any time, what is happening directly at our enterprises, in particular, we are talking about the control of the land bank, fleet, operations that take place in the field, etc.” – added Yevhen Horlo.
The expert stressed that the implementation of digital solutions for business processes’ control gives positive results. In particular, the increase in corn yield from 5 to 7 centners per hectare Agricom Group received due to the re-equipment of seeders under the technology of Precision planting.
“It means that we have paid back the cost of the equipment for the first year of use. This year we have completely re-equipped all our drills for differential sowing and differential application of liquid fertilizers. After all, our climate is changing, and there are more problems with dry fertilizers,” said the expert.
