Agricom Group plans to convert the factory Dobrodiya oat plant to solar energy
Next year, the Dobrodiya Foods plans to start the first stage of the solar installation project as part of the Agricom Group’s Sustainable Development Strategy.
“We plan to replace the use of most of the electricity at the plant with solar energy and alternative sources. Now the plant has completely abandoned natural gas and switched to alternative heating sources. In production, we use only electricity, the share of which in the cost of production is not more than 5%”, – said Irina Broslavtseva, director of Dobrodiya Foods.
According to the International Renewable Energy Agency, by 2050, alternative energy sources will provide more than 90% of global electricity demand. “According to the Agricom Group Sustainable Development Strategy, the Group is moving towards providing its activities with 100% renewable energy by 2025. In just a few years, most of our equipment will be powered by clean energy produced by solar installations. We are currently working with renewable energy companies and educational institutions to further develop solutions aimed at sustainable agricultural development”, – said Petro Melnyk, co-owner and CEO of Agricom Group.
