Social responsibility of agribusiness is the development of rural communities

However, centuries-old traditions of agriculture with the introduction of efficient technologies and people’s application to work are the factors, which provide an opportunity to consider Ukraine as the “breadbasket of Europe.” So, the village will be successful, because, in spite of all the difficulties, the agricultural sector of our country is developing steadily. Villages, where lands are cultivated, should develop together with industry. As a matter of fact, not every village can show the results of social and economic partnership with agrarians, but there are those who have already worked side by side with business. Successful enterprises are excited at such cooperation. Thus, the structural units of the national agro-industrial group Agricom Group prove for many years that they are socially responsible companies, which take part in important events for local residents.

In Troitske and Markov villages, the celebration of Independence Day was held with the financial support from the company “Progress”, the part of the national agro-industrial group Agricom Group. In Kryske village, it also took place at the local stadium with the participation of on-stage performance groups. In Ovcharovo village, festive events were held in a joyful and patriotic atmosphere with the assistance of Agricom Group and locals got a lot of pleasure. Village heads thanked Stanislav Stechenko, the head of Bilokurakino cluster, for the financial support and expressed their hope for further effective cooperation.

Agricom Group also took part in First Bell holiday in Ovcharovo village (Troitske district), Kryz’ke village (Markov district), Shaparivka and Lyzyno villages (Bilokurakino district). Vasyl Kupryianets’, deputy director of development and social support of communities in Bilokurakyno cluster of Agricom Group, traditionally congratulated first-grade pupils for their first big day, and with his colleagues gave so necessary gifts: schoolbags with school supplies according to pupils’ and their parents’ tastes.

Chernihiv cluster in Chernihiv region also joined the important event: children from schools in Krasnyanske and Slabyn villages received desirable sports equipment and sets of educational materials from Bursuk Vasyl, deputy development director of Chernihiv cluster, and Evgeniy Tkachenko, head of land department. It is a great tradition of family communication with the community: for many years, educational establishments have financial and organizational support from Agricom Group in solving a number of problems.

Enterprises of the national agro-industrial group Agricom Group take active part in events important for villages and the communities, wh ere they leased agricultural lands; such way of business dealing is implemented on a regular basis. Support for villages is a free-will social obligement of responsible business, and this practice should be spread in villages and settlements of Ukraine.

The current social and economic situation in Ukrainian village is far fr om the European living standards, which our state has been seeking to get for years. Members of the rural communities are concerned about following issues: substandard infrastructure, insufficient funding and, consequently, fall of living standards.
